Seawater/brackish water can be used to produce drinking water using Reverse Osmosis. This process requires clean, bacteria free water entering the RO membranes.

It has been proven that if the seawater/brackish water is disinfected with UV prior to entering the RO process that the RO membranes last longer which saves time and money.

Seawater/fresh water is also used in Aquaculture and if UV disinfected prior to use in trays and purging, the seafood is healthier, bigger and free of harmful bacteria, which could be dangerous to human beings.
