Warm Water Systems (WWS)
Water warmed to 43 - 45°C is a perfect temperature for Legionnaires' disease (Legionella pneumophila) to grow. For example, in cold water the bacteria cannot reproduce but, as the water gets warmer, it can quickly grow to dangerous levels of more than 1000 per ml. Health authorities recommend less than 10 per ml as being achievable and safe.

The WWS Series can be used to disinfect:

  • Warm water systems (43 - 45°C)
  • Tepid or mixed water used for bathing in hospitals, nursing homes, ages hostels and retirement villages.

Compare this with non-UVTA quartz tube UV systems of yesteryear. The quartz UV system is far less effecient (please view the critical factors) and in fact will not work if the water flow is static.

Models in this series include:

  • LC50 WWS for flows up to 50 L/m @ 450 kPa @ 43 - 45°C
  • LC80 WWS for flows up to 80 L/m @ 450 kPa @ 43 - 45°C
  • LC110 WWS for flows up to 110 L/m @ 450 kPa @ 43 - 45°C
  • LC160 WWS for flows up to 160 L/m @ 450 kPa @ 43 - 45°C
  • LC220 WWS for flows up to 220 L/m @ 450 kPa @ 43 - 45°C

Advantages of using the UTVA units:

  • UV lamps not encased by any fragile, easily fouled quartz sleeves
  • Air cooling systems to maintain the optimum UV lamp skin temperature
  • Units are rugged
  • No short-circuiting
  • No wipers or scraping devices required
  • Ease of installation
NSW Health Department PDA 088 approval number

UVTA - Ultraviolet Technology of Australasia
Simply install a tried and proven UVTA LC WWS series unit into the warm water loop. The unit is not affected by operating with a 43 - 45°C water temperature and can also operate under static water flow conditions.
